I sat myself down this morning and watched Barack Obamas
Presidential Announcement speech streamed from his web site. I did feel good after watching it. I do feel like he is a guy I could really get behind. I felt like one of his most important points was that he cant just run, it cant just be about him, it has to be about us, which, in the end, is dead on. He is representing us and our hopes and our ideas and our future and if its only about him we dont benefit from anything he does. When he says things I believe him. Hes not fucking around. His talking point on special interest groups really hit home for me as well. Our government wasnt designed to run the way its running now. We almost need to get back to the basics in order to achieve some real change. On the other hand, Im going to wait to throw all my support behind him. Im going to give Hillary a chance. I feel like all these kids jumping into the race behind someone already need to give it more time. Its not something that should be popular, its something that should be thought out and cared about.
Saturday Chels and I went to the Met and saw an exhibit of
German portraits from a very extraordinary time in German history. I really enjoyed it. Afterwards we had some Thai food, went shopping around the Union Square/Chelsea area and then saw
The Italian. The Italian is a Russian film I had seen previews for at the BAM a couple times. Oddly enough my hate for children doesnt cross over into movies and some of my favorite movies feature small boys as the main character. Dont ask me why. Anyways, after seeing it at the
smallest theater ever surrounded by a bunch of wealthy ass hole NYers Chels and I headed home to 551. It was a good date with the City.
