I knew there was a reason I didn't get up early. Normally I get up around 11:30-12:00. Today, my alarm went off at 10:00 and I thought, why not, I can drag myself into the back yard for some tanning then I'll wash my car all before it gets too hot. So, with set plans and all, I walk into the kitchen for a pop tart AND THE SPRINKLERS ARE ON in the backyard. I was like, damn, my plans are FOILED! So then I was like, well, I can always wash my car first and then tan, by then the grass will be dry and so I walk outside and my car is gone. This is what happens when you get up early kids. Honestly, next time I feel like doing something I'm just going to forget about it. So, now its almost 11:00 and Im still waiting for the grass to dry so I don't have a wet blanket. I don't work on Fridays so I really have nothing to do today until 1:50 when I have a meeting at North By. Like, I don't want to go back to sleep right now it would only make me really tired later on. This is just a bummer.

Onto this weekend...yeah, wait, that's what I thought, no plans. The weather promises to be extraordinarily nice so I'm going to try and make it out to the lake even though we are cabin-less. I still have a dock. Its all I need. (Indie Rock and Rock for Me.) Other then the lake effort I think I'll be sitting around a lot, tanning, and if all goes well, I'll be watching some episodes of Stargate SG-1 that should be finished downloading any minute now. The Sasquatch Music Festival is this weekend but as history repeats itself, I'm not attending once again. What a tool. Its only like the greatest concert at the Gorge each year and I never go. Booooooo.

Onto my Graduation Week recap...
As normal my trip started out with catastrophe when I booted on the flight from Spokane to Salt Lake City. It was rough. I called my Dad crying saying I wanted to come home and I thought I might have the flu but then I didn't want to waste the ticket. I was a wreck. I got onto my flight to BWI and I was sure the ralphing was
going to continue but then I just passed out on the plane and woke up in BWI. Man I hate flying. Its to bad since traveling is my most favoritest pastime. Chels and Steph came to pick me up, but, I have a feeling Steph only came along because she wanted the mini muffins I had in my backpack.
Not as much drunken debauchery took place as last graduation week but it was still pretty fun. I spent a few nights baring it up with everyone else since I was the only non 21 year old. Chestertown was off the hizzle because of graduation week so the bars were packed and even though I looked 12 and had sassy bangs I didn't get carded and had me a good time.
Megan Curren Graduated on Sunday which just happened to be Chels' birthday as well. After the graduation ceremony and a monstrous nap, Chels and I headed out to the Curren Family Farm House which happens to be on the water front and is less of a house and more of a sweet bathroom in every room, professionally decorated, two story party machine of an estate. I mean, it has a screened in back porch which is bigger then my house. Okay, its not, but the place is crack-a-lakin. I had a beef-off with Steph (6 slabs of beef each and the first one to clear their plate wins). She totally owned me but lets remember that I just ate my weight in chocolate cake about 5 minutes earlier. Speaking of chocolate cake I got pretty drunk later on along with everyone else and then I decided it would be cool to start eating the chocolate cake RIGHT out of the box. Curren then picked up some cake, say, a hand full, and smeared it all over my face. This, in true Rachel fashion, was all documented by multiple cameras so you'll probably see it sooner or later. It's pretty heinous. I also took some pictures of the farm house and a few of graduation also so when I have more time on my hands and I'm not waiting for grass to dry I'll load them up.
Monday Chels and I slept for years then we went and saw Revenge of the Sith and had some Red Robin. Tuesday we hit up my lover Three Brothers Pizza and shopped a bit in Annapolis before I had to fly out. I would like to announce that this time both my flights were barf free.
So right, Im home now, and I needs to get some color. So Im out. Thanks for reading.

FYI: My Episode III count is now three. I went again last night. Holllllar.

Fix You.

when you try your best but you don't succeed
when you get what you want but not what you need
when you feel so tired but you can't sleep
stuck in reverse

and the tears come streaming down your face
when you lose something you can't replace
when you love someone but it goes to waste
could it be worse?

lights will guide you home
and ignite your bones
and i will try to fix you

high up above or down below
when you're too in love to let it go
and if you'll never try, you'll never know
just what you were

lights will guide you home
and ignite your bones
and i will try to fix you

Episode III was awesome. Not just a good addition to the Star Wars legacy, but, a good movie all on its own.

VELOCIRAPTOR: "Speedy Thief"
Tuesday, May 17, 2005
3:41 AM

What do you know, I'm busy this week. To make up for my absence later this week at work (See: Star Wars Premier and Chestertown, Maryland) Im working all day tomorrow which should be followed by laundry, room cleaning and some packing. Wednesday I'm going to be spending the better part of the day saving seats in a theater like any Star Wars fan would. Getting the tickets is only the first part of the master plan. Prime seats must also be secured for the ultimate in Star Wars enjoyment. Silly Spokane has six, soon to be seven, Star Wars 12:01 showings sold out for that night so the AMC 20 is going to be a happening place. The movie is about 2 hours and 26 minutes (without 15 minutes of previews) which puts my out of theater time at about 2:51 am. Add the time it takes to get out of the theater plus travel time and Im home around 3:20. I wouldn't make you read all this time nonsense but since my flight to Maryland leaves at 5:10 in the morning and I have to arrive an hour early, I'm going to not only be cutting it a bit close but I'll be a hurting machine as well. This wouldn't normally be a problem but since the only activity to take place at graduation week is drinking, I will be forced to consume alcohol till I cant remember my name and after a long flight and a even longer day of seat saving Im gonna be toast. What Im trying to say here folks is that Im pretty freakin excited for everything I've got going. I have also been told by reliable sources that the Keg Olympics are to take place Friday and that I better not suck. So much pressure. Lets just say the last time I was involved in the Olympics I was in fourth grade. Even though a Keg wasn't involved, I had to fashion a paper plane that would accurately fly into a number of designated squares made by rulers that consecutively got smaller and smaller each with increasing point values. I don't have to tell you what the out come of that was since my father was the one that made the plane, but, Im just hoping these Olympics go as well. Anyways, Thursday morning I leave for graduation week and I wont be back till Tuesday night. I sure hope you all miss me.

As a side note, New Cat has officially been marked as a disturber of the Peace and my Moms trying to get rid of her. Even though I wake up with her wrapped around my head sleeping and she leaves more hair on my clothes then a polar bear would, I really don't want to get rid of her. So, please, if you could, would you organize a e-mail campaign to my Mother in the hopes that New Cat my stay as a part of the Cates family? That would be great. Thanks.

Also, I got a call from North by Northwest today and I have a meeting to discuss the role I will play in the new movie hitting Spokane soon. When I say role I don't mean Girl in Red one or like, Innocent Bystander four, I mean like Intern, Production Assistant or even the glorious title of Production Coordinator Assistant. So, next week when I get home from C-town I'll know more about that. I would really, REALLY like to get paid on this movie so I can quit my EWU job because frankly it sucks. So, yeah, that's all kids.

Expect pictures and please, go see Star Wars: Episode III, Revenge of the Sith.

I'll miss you.

Sup, Sup Happy Mothers Day!
Monday, May 09, 2005
1:11 AM

Today I took part in dual Mothers Day celebrations. I started out the day with my Moms side of the family. We took part in a little Mimosa action which were of course accompanied with none other then Mini Muffins. Pictures were taken in the front yard using our beautiful Dogwood tree as a back drop but I'm afraid I hadn't taken a shower and was sporting my glasses so those pictures wont be displayed at this time.
In-between Breakfast and Dinner I took a nap in true Rachel fashion.
Next was my Dads side of the family, so we hit up the Cates house for a BBQ. Even though it was Mothers Day all the mothers made and brought and cooked things for dinner. Ironic. Dinner was of course delicious. We ate outside as it was warm and pleasant and Gramps had a fire burning in the Chiminea so it was even better then normal. The fire was burning for a reason, and one reason only: Shmores. Aunt Tracy from the UK hadn't ever had one so she filmed me giving directions about the proper procedures to follow when making such a delicacy and then she made one herself. I love fires. It was a good night.

Below are some pictures I took of the Cates backyard. My Aunt Lori is hands down the best gardener in the world. WORLD. She works at a nursery and worked for my father as well so she has many years of garden design under her belt. The pictures are of a waterfall she constructed a few years ago in the backyard. I wish that more plants were blooming but its still glorious. Enjoy kids and have a wonderful week.

You can see the green house in the distance and further beyond that is a cabin. It really is the most amazing back yard.

Kicking The Heart Out
Saturday, May 07, 2005
4:28 AM

I just watched me some Drum Line. I know what you're thinking-that movie rules. It's okay, I already knew that.

So, today right, I didn't work, and like, so, this is what I did instead...
-I started to clean my room
-I gave new cat a bath
-I watched a lot of TV

...and that's all. Funny story about new cat...she sheds like no ones bissssnas. I brush her and pet her and love her and still more hair. It's never ending. So I think, I thinks, why not get some special cat shampoo and give this kitty a bath? So I do and she likes it and all is well in the world...till she is dry and is shedding just as much if not MORE and now the hair she sheds just smells good. What the fuck man! Why didn't that work?! Also, I still need a name for new cat. Gillian has been trying to help me with this endeavor but I'm so picky. I just can't decide. Please, will you suggest some names?

Also, I just wanted to say thanks to my pals that gave me a little lovin over Operation: NYU let down. Im feeling a lot better about the whole thing and you guys helped a lot.

Every Moment

Well kids, I didn't get into NYU. Im pretty sad and disappointed about it but I tried and I cant do anything more about it right now. Its going to be hard to find a school that I can still apply to and attend this coming fall but Im looking into The School of Visual Arts in New York. What I want right now is to get out of Spokane. I don't really want to put my life on more of a hold then it is on right now, but, if I have to wait a year to go back to school then I'll just have to find something good to do with it till then. Im glad the waiting is over.

Talk About a Double Dare!
Monday, May 02, 2005
2:17 AM

I've been a busy Rachel since Wednesday night. I don't really feel like giving a play by play or anything but I hit up The Killers Thursday night, a Wedding on Saturday and then a Tea Party today. In-between was drunkenness and lots of shopping. I hung out with Kayla as much as possible and I even got to see a little of John. Its been a good five days but now I'm tired and I would like to go to bed, so, if you will let me, I would like a few pictures tell my story for me. Enjoy!

Happy May Day!
